Stay up-to-date on everything happening: Join the BAM Facebook Group. The Bennington Area Makers (BAM) will host First Robotics teams again this year. We will have an info session at BAM on Thursday 7/22 6:00 – 7:30 PM where team members from last year’s team will dust off the cob webs and get last year’s competition bot back online. We will discuss the First Tech Challenge which is a chance for “coopertition” (cooperation and competition) in which youth ages 12-18 build and operate a robot to perform a specific set of tasks. We also plan to have a First Lego Robotics League team this year for younger children. We will have more information on that opportunity shortly. BAM is located at 239 Main St, Bennington, VT. For more information contact Jackie Kelly (jackiekellyvt@gmail.com, 802-379-4350) or Chris Callahan (chris.callahan@uvm.edu, 802-447-7582 x256). The Bennington Area Makerspace provides opportunities for connection to the entire community via intellectually and physically creative activities. We are building an accessible, open, and safe space for the community to explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) skills and support entrepreneurship by making things and making connections. The guiding principle of BAM is to enable transdisciplinary collaboration and intergenerational exchange to feed curiosity, support discovery, and encourage entrepreneurial development in the Bennington area.
